Instead of the short loops (1 or 2 bars) typical in many loop libraries, we’ve provided longer loops to retain the feel of the actual performance. Most of the loops are 4 bars in length and many of the fills are included as part of the loops, with additional fills included to enhance variation and flexibility to suit your project.
This loop collection for Double Vision was recorded by Ron Wikso, who played as if performing the song. This means that rather than performing each loop completely differently, some might appear similar, as is often the case in a real performance, but there are typically nuances between them that make them sound and feel different. For example; even though verse 1.wav and verse 2.wav may sound almost identical they’re not exactly the same. Your song will have a more organic feel by using both of these loops rather than pasting the same one in both verses.

We were out in Anaheim last week at Winter NAMM 2010. We did four full days of checking out stuff and meeting people including talking to the folks at Modern Drummer Magazine.

We got together one evening for dinner with Hugh and Dave. Ron did world tours with Cher, Hugh and Dave so it was a bit of a reunion. Hugh is heading out on a 2-year tour with Bon Jovi. Dave is out with REO always.
Ron hates the feel of drum pads, but it was fun listening to him play in the Yamaha booth.
Everywhere we turned, Ron was talking to someone he knows. Neal Schon and Wally Minko were certainly interesting! Neal said he’s working on a solo project for 2010 before heading back into the studio later this year with Journey. Wally is doing cool jazz projects, but I think he should run for Governor of California.
